A silver bar weighing no less than 1,971 kilos has become the starting point for a concrete example of tokenisation of a physical asset. The project has been launched within the framework of the cooperation between DMCC and Dubai's regulator VARA, where digital shares are linked to the real silver bar.

What is interesting is not only the size of the asset, but the structure behind it: physical silver, verified custody, documentation and a digital representation that makes it possible to divide the economic exposure into smaller parts.

It illustrates a central principle in tokenisation of real-world assets: the asset remains in the physical world. What is digitalised is the defined right and the information around it - not the silver itself.
